Original watercolor on watermarked ivory paper. The signature is present on the upper right corner. On the lower margin the original title is present. Mint conditions. Excellent work depicting the portrait of a boy with a typical Venetian headdress. The work is realized with fresh strokes of watercolor on paper that define the whole portrait. The strokes are very smart and elegant. The work was attributed to Antonio Visentini (Venice, 1688 - Venice, 1782). He was an Italian painter, architect and engraver. He was best known for his illustrations and engravings, including the cartoons for Francesco Guicciardini Della Istoria d'Italia, Visentini taught architecture at the Venice Academy for several years. He is also remembered for a series of reproductions of scenarios taken from Canaletto's paintings, depicting various Venetian views. He designed the Venetian home of the English consul Joseph Smith. In 1726, he published Iconography of the Ducal Basilica of the Evangelist Mark, exhibiting the results of a study on the basilica of San Marco. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
