An elegant French Consulat to early Empire side table, circa 1800–1810, crafted in richly figured mahogany and retaining its handsome black marble top with delicate white veining. The architectural form features three drawers accented by finely cast gilt-brass circular pulls and distinctive shield-form escutcheons. Slender square supports terminate in contrasting ebonized block feet, joined by a gracefully curved lower stretcher. Beautifully proportioned and unusually refined, the piece works equally well as a bedside table or sophisticated occasional table.
This table is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
