A classic camelback wingback with flat scrolled wings, softly rolled arms, and a loose boxed seat cushion. What sets it apart from the usual skirted version is the exposed base: square tapered oak legs joined by an H-stretcher, which lifts the whole silhouette and keeps it from reading heavy. Generously scaled for a reading corner, a bedroom, or as a counterpoint to a more modern seating group.
This chair retains its original factory label, hand-signed by the quality inspector, Hattie Helms.
Cochrane Furniture was founded in 1905 in Lincolnton, North Carolina, by John Elam and Emma McCoy Cochrane, and stayed in the family for four generations.
