An exceptional matching pair of circa 1890 antique Victorian mantel ewers, presenting a striking fusion of classic metalwork and delicate hand-painted artistry. Serving as magnificent decorative garniture for a grand fireplace mantel, library bookshelf, or dining room buffet, these stately pieces feature an ornate, highly sculptural spout and high-arched handle cast in spelter metal with a beautifully preserved, deep aged patina.
The handles are elegantly crowned with a finely modeled winged cherub (putto) motif, while the lower neck of each spout features a detailed cherub face/masqueron relief ornamenting the front and rear profiles.
