About LaBarge

LaBarge was an American decorative-furnishings company rather than an individual designer. LaBarge Mirrors Inc. was founded in 1962 by William LaBarge Sr., a Chicago-born furniture salesman who acquired the residential mirror division of Donnelly Mirrors in Holland, Michigan. The company developed a reputation for decorative mirrors and glass-top furniture spanning a broad range of styles, from European traditional and neoclassical designs to mid-century modern and Hollywood Regency.

LaBarge pieces were known for sophisticated decorative techniques including gilding, carving, molding, hand-rubbed finishes, brass detailing, decorative glass, and historically inspired ornamentation. Period advertising confirms that the LaBarge collection encompassed distinctive mirrors, tables, and folding screens sold through fine furniture stores and selected showrooms.

The company was sold to Masco Corporation in 1987, later became part of Heritage Home Group, and was subsequently acquired by Rock House Farm in 2018.
