A deep band of scrolling floral relief runs the length of the backrest, framed by two heavy turned posts that rise to carved finials, with a twisted rope swag strung between them. The seat is hand woven in rope over a carved frame, and the four turned feet carry their own carved detail.

It measures 47 inches wide by 16.5 inches deep by 29 inches high and weighs roughly 30 pounds. The finish has darkened to a deep walnut brown over the years.

Condition is original and unaltered, and it wears its age honestly. The rope seat and swag show stretch, fraying and loss in places, the finish is worn through on the high points and feet, and there are scattered nicks and losses to the carved relief. Structurally sound.
