The aesthetic of its square lines is immediately striking: a near-perfect cube, its armrests and backrest running at the same height, cut out only at the seat. This absolute rigor of form leaves plenty of room for the upholstery—in this case, a matte suede in a light lilac-gray, whose velvety surface absorbs light rather than reflecting it. Flat, chrome-plated feet sit beneath the four corners, slightly raising the body. This detail, characteristic of the original Suitcase, makes the solid cube appear to float rather than sit on its surface.
