Dating to the late Victorian era (circa 1880–1890s), these architectural salvage gems feature a deeply molded, elegant Art Nouveau relief pattern composed of fluid, sweeping foliate scrolls and climbing vine work.Glaze & ColorwayThe set is finished in a highly desirable, rich maroon / deep burgundy majolica glaze. The translucent glaze mimics the properties of a traditional oxblood finish, pooling heavily within the recessed relief work to create dramatic near-black shadows while pulling tight over the raised surfaces to reveal lighter ruby and amber undertones. The brilliant glossy finish catches the light beautifully, giving the tiles immense depth and dimensional character.Historical SignificanceFounded in 1875, AETCo rose to become one of the premier tile manufacturers in the world, celebrated for their superior clay blends and artistry.
