This is the SAIC Quantam Rocking Chair, an exclusive collaboration between CB2 and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It was designed by SAIC student Taeyoung Choi as part of Design Collab, a program pairing design students with CB2 to bring fresh, thoughtful ideas into the home — a genuine designer piece, not mass-market furniture.
We bought this chair directly from CB2 when our first son was born — we just liked the look of it and thought it'd be a nice fit for the nursery. It's sat as a lovely accent piece in our home ever since, though it hasn't seen heavy daily use.
Now, as we redecorate], it's time to pass it along. Because it's been lightly used, it's in great shape — no significant wear, and the soft grey tweed upholstery still looks great. We hope it finds a new family who'll appreciate the design as much as we have.
