A dramatic and exceptionally stylized mid-century ceramic sculpture depicting a rearing stallion, produced in the United States circa 1950–1960. Strongly characteristic of the California Pottery movement and Hollywood Regency aesthetics, this statement piece features an elongated, fluid form finished in a high-gloss, creamy-ivory overglaze.The horse stands dynamically atop a swirling, organic base detailed with soft green and muted brown underglazes that pool gracefully into the crevices. Shimmering, hand-applied liquid gold leaf highlights accent the flowing mane, chiseled hooves, tail, and harness trim, providing a luminous contrast that captures ambient light beautifully.The underside features a raw, unglazed firing rim and remains hand-incised with the authentic "USA" origin mark alongside its factory mold number.
