Swedish Organic Mid Century Modern glass sculpture by designer Erik Hoglund. Solid clear glass with a rustic feel to it and a stylized animal shape from the Boda (Kosta) factory in Sweden. Many different uses for it: sculpture, paperweight, book holder.
Engraved on bottom: BODA H1382/12
MEASUREMENTS: 4 1/2 inches high x 4 3/4 inches wide x 4 inches deep.
CONDITION: Very Good, no issues.
Erik Höglund ( 1932- 1998 ) studied at the Konstfack in Stockholm. Hoglund worked for Boda Glasbruk from 1953-1973. During his time at Boda, he introduced a new way of making glass pieces, a bit more raw, rough, heavy and lots of stylized primitive figurative designs, breaking the mold of what had been the Swedish glass making mantra of precise, perfect and symetrical pieces
