Elegant matching pair of antique French giltwood frames featuring beautifully carved oval openings and scrolling acanthus leaf ornamentation. The frames retain their original, untouched condition, including the old backing and protruding original nails.
According to the previous owner, these frames were formerly used to display fabric, giving them an especially interesting decorative history. They could now be used to frame artwork, textiles, mirrors, or fabric panels, or simply displayed as architectural decorative elements.
The aged gilt finish has the natural variation, wear, and patina expected of older pieces. A wonderful choice for a French country, château, traditional, or collected interior.
Dimensions: Approximately 18” H x 18” W each.
