This cast iron door knocker has an amazing patina, and I will guess it is cast iron as it strongly attracts a magnet. It features a lion, popular in England in the late 1800s/early 1900s as a symbol of strength, protection and English power. The part that attaches to the door is a solid piece, and the knocker is attached via the ring in the lion's mouth.
This has a hole on either side of the lion's head to attach to the door, at some point, someone attached a wire, which can be easily removed. It is in excellent condition measuring 10" L x 7" W.
