Vintage chrome lounge chair with cushions.
This chair appears to hail from Howell's mid-1930s line of chrome lounge furniture, produced between 1935 and 1937. These chairs, designed in collaboration with Austrian-American architect Wolfgang Hoffmann, it goes beyond the standard catalog fare of the time. Instead of the typical metal "cane" back found on most Howell chairs, Hoffmann's design features sleek tubular chrome rails-evocative of Kem Weber's work for Lloyd Manufacturing.
