A charming vintage oil painting depicting a tall Victorian-era townhouse with projecting bay windows, architectural ornamentation, and a dramatic flight of front steps. The narrow vertical composition beautifully emphasizes the height and character of the building and strongly evokes the historic residential streets of San Francisco.
Rendered in a softly muted palette of cream, taupe, gray, pale blue, and deep brown, the painting features expressive brushwork and areas of textured impasto, particularly throughout the architectural details and foreground greenery. Signed by the artist in the lower-left corner; the signature appears to read “Jeanne Marlin Hunt,” although the exact spelling has not been independently confirmed.
Presented in a complementary silver-gray wood frame with a naturally distressed finish. A distinctive original work for an architectural-art collection, gallery wall, study, entryway, or urban-inspired interior.
Overall framed dimensions: 14.5 inches wide by 26.5 inches high.
