On offer is an exceptional vintage piece of American craftsmanship by Baker Furniture Company. This chest of drawers was introduced as part of Baker’s highly acclaimed "French Collection."
STYLE: Designed in the French Provincial Louis XV style, it mimics 18th-century antique country commodes. It features a heavily contoured serpentine front, rounded paneled corners, an ornately carved curvaceous apron, and distinctive short whorl or whorled cabriole feet. The chest contains three expansive drawers configured with center vertical panels to give the elegant visual illusion of a six-drawer commode layout.
MATERIALS & CRAFTSMANSHIP: It is meticulously crafted from premium solid oak and oak veneers. The finish highlights a beautiful, swirling open oak grain that emphasizes its rustic yet elegant design. The chest features its original, highly detailed cast brass hardware, including prominent drop pulls with decorative circular backplates and central lock escutcheons.
