An elegant and substantial circa 1920s French Revival trumeau-style margin mirror by the Elgin A. Simonds Furniture Company of Syracuse, New York. The sophisticated architectural design pairs an antiqued gilt finish with a beautifully carved floral crest, scrolling foliate details, and a classical painted putto medallion, while the central mirror is framed by delicate beaded molding and individual mirrored margin panels. Richly detailed without being overly ornate, the mirror has the refined European-inspired character for which early 20th-century revival furnishings are so admired.

There are a few very small areas of minor wood loss/chipping that are difficult to capture in photographs, light separation at some of the frame joints, and scattered flaking and wear to the finish consistent with age.
