Table was made in the Northeast about … Read more Hard to find antique American 2 pedestal mahogany dining table with 1 leaf. Table was made in the Northeast about 1825. Beautiful mahogany with flame mahogany veneer on the skirt. Table was refinished some time ago but finish is still good. Table halves and leaf are held in place with brass yokes or forks. I set the top up and had all forks in place fine. Now I cant get 1 of the forks to to line up on 1 side of the table. I dont know why and I'm frustrated because I had it all set up working fine. It might just be as simple as trying different forks in different places which also makes no sense since they are the same size but it might solve the problem. As you can see in the photos there are a few shrinkage cracks to the top and a couple of small repairs. Table is 200 years old and has served many meals so you have to expect something! The top without the leaf is 51" by 54" and the leaf is 25" wide so fully extended table is 79" long. Easily seat 8 maybe 10 people comfortably. Table stands 29" which is standard dining table height. As you can see in the photos the 2 halves separate and 1 half has supports for the leaf which pull out. The saber legs end in brass caps and wheels. A good useable antique table. See less
