A charming mid-century modern townscape that captures the warmth and simplicity of a Mediterranean village through a wonderfully stylised composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

Whitewashed buildings with terracotta roofs cluster together while a lone palm tree and broad-leafed plants frame the quiet street, evoking the relaxed atmosphere of a coastal settlement bathed in southern light.

Executed in a distinctly modernist style, the artist reduces architecture and landscape into bold geometric forms and flattened planes of colour. Perspective is intentionally simplified, allowing the rhythmic arrangement of rooftops, walls and pathways to create a harmonious sense of balance rather than strict realism.
