Overton, featuring an exuberant display of flowering plants in shades of pink, lavender, yellow, and green. Expressive brushwork captures the movement and abundance of a garden in full bloom, with distant hills and a softly colored sky providing depth to the composition.

The painting is presented in an elaborate, deeply molded gilt frame with raised floral and foliate ornamentation. Measuring nearly four feet wide, this substantial work combines a lively botanical subject with the formality of traditional framing.

JUNE'S THOUGHTS
I can easily imagine this painting hanging above a sofa, a substantial chest, or a library table. Its lively colors would bring a wonderful freshness to a room furnished with traditional English or American antiques. I particularly like the contrast between the loosely painted garden and the richly ornamented gilt frame. It's the kind of unexpected pairing that makes a collected interior feel personal and interesting.
