Vintage decorative botanical print depicting the “Limon Sbardonius,” after Giovanni Battista Ferrari’s celebrated citrus illustrations from his 1646 Hesperides. Featuring a whole lemon on the branch, sliced fruit, deep green foliage and scrolling Latin ribbon, the composition captures the wonderfully graphic quality of 17th-century European botanical studies.
Presented beneath glass with layered soft pink matting, a striking pink marbled-paper border and an ornate gilt foliate frame. The reverse retains a Balangier Fine Art and Framing, Little Ferry, New Jersey label. A handsome decorator piece for a kitchen, dining room, breakfast room, library or gallery wall.
