This piece is a French country provincial-style hanging wall shelf, lined with "toile de Jouy" fabric and accented with stylized floral borders.

Small in structure, it has a visual impact that sets it apart from other French provincial entranceway shelving. The fabric is indeed faded, torn in places, or at least worn down, which adds to its charm. We believe all coverings are original, and the paint detail is also original, though the hangers may have been added later. The wood underneath is structurally sound, though we’re unsure of the type of wood as identifying it would require removing some of the materials. less
