Striking vintage Young-Hinkle “Ship Ahoy” nautical ship-wheel headboard, circa 1970s.
This distinctive headboard features the collection’s iconic oversized wooden ship wheel, turned spokes, curved wheel surround, and carved detailing. The substantial wooden construction and warm natural finish give the piece wonderful vintage character.
The headboard comes from an original Young-Hinkle Ship Ahoy bedroom set. The accompanying dresser and nightstand retain their original Young-Hinkle / Ship Ahoy maker’s markings, while the headboard itself does not have a visible maker’s mark. Its design and construction correspond closely with documented examples of the Ship Ahoy headboard.
