Exclusive and carefully crafted chairs in solid, oiled teak. Model 310 was designed by Danish furniture designer Erik Buch for Christiansens Møbelfabrik and is an elegant example of Danish furniture design, where craftsmanship, organic lines and high seating comfort are combined.
Erik Buch was a prominent Danish designer whose furniture is characterized by soft shapes, elaborate wooden details and a clear balance between function and aesthetics. He often worked in teak, oak and rosewood and created furniture in which the natural properties of the wood played a central role.
Christiansens Møbelfabrik was a Danish furniture manufacturer with a focus on solid craftsmanship and well-constructed furniture. In model 310, the interaction between Buch's design and the factory's craftsmanship is particularly clear.
The extended back legs are skillfully angled to follow the back and provide comfortable support. The two softly shaped slats of the back interact and form an arched back tray that naturally surrounds the back.
The frame's continuous oval shapes, beautiful joints and stabilizing crossbar give the chair a solid construction and a soft, elegant silhouette. There are hardly any sharp or angular details – the entire chair is characterized by an organic design language and very fine craftsmanship.
The rounded seat has been reupholstered and upholstered in Hallingdal 65 from Danish Kvadrat, in the sober melange color 368. Hallingdal was originally designed in 1965 by Nanna Ditzel, one of Denmark's most influential designers in furniture and textiles. Hallingdal 65 is made of wool and viscose. The wool contributes to durability and suppleness, while the viscose gives the color depth and luster. The fabric has a durability of 100,000 Martindale and is therefore very suitable for furniture that will be used frequently and will remain beautiful over time.
The tactile, mottled structure of the fabric softens the strict lines of the teak and gives the chairs a modern expression that fits equally well in classic and contemporary environments.
The result is an exceptionally beautiful and well-balanced chair with high comfort, created to be used and appreciated for many years to come.
The chairs are in very good condition with very few signs of wear. All have been reupholstered and reupholstered.
