Large-scale statement piece oil on canvas depicting a pair of golden pheasants perched on a gnarled branch, set against a misty autumn ground of ochre, rust, and cream. The composition blends loose, gestural brushwork in the background with finely inked calligraphic foliage — a hallmark of Vanguard Studios' chinoiserie subjects.
Produced by Vanguard Studios Inc. of Los Angeles. Signed "Lee Reynolds" lower left and stamped "Vanguard Studios Inc. — Copyright Pending" on the reverse, an earlier-production mark that predates the studio's later paper labels.
At 52" wide (with frame), this is a true statement piece — ideal above a credenza, sofa, or bed, and equally at home in a mid-century modern, chinoiserie, or maximalist interior. Retains its original slim wood-and-gilt floater frame.
Ready to hang.
