Vanguard Studios paintings - Founded on the principle that every American family should have the opportunity to own an original piece of art, Vanguard was started by Lee Raymond Burr and operated out of Los Angeles in the mid-20th Century. Burr didn’t paint every piece himself, but instead employed individual artists who copied original artworks that Burr brought back from Europe or painted himself. Our collection includes some of the studio’s most illustrious works, including modernist abstracts, cityscapes, and more.
