Offered is a 1986 1st American Edition "Beaton in Vogue" by Josephine Ross.
It is a hardcover with dust-jacket, coffee cotton boards, and blush pink end papers. Arranged by subject rather than year, this visual chronicle spans the many decades Beaton spent working for American, British, and French Vogue magazines. With dozens of color plates, the book contains the photographs and drawings that epitomized mid-century glamour and also sold millions of magazines over the course of half a century. To great effect, the book includes excerpts from Beaton's insightful and witty reporting that frequently accompanied his work.
“There is a relationship between form and content (which is why I personally disapprove of plastic surgery). We are what we look like.” --Cecil Beaton.
