This is an oval-decal-style J. & J. Hopkinson piano, made in England between approximately 1865 and 1895.
This antique upright grand piano features the original nameplate and fallboard emblem of the company, founded in 1800. The firm became well regarded for producing high-quality Victorian and Edwardian pianos.
Built in London during the peak of the Victorian era, this piano features the distinctive dark oval shield with an ornate, looping gold script design. The piano case is made of mahogany and features heavy decorative wood carvings and elegant candle-holder brackets.
The piano is in good playing condition and retains many of its original decorative features.
