Hand-painted with expressive features and an elegant gold-gilt bow collar, the cat perches beautifully atop a molded pink tasseled cushion with a green base trim. The reverse side of the neck features an authentic original kiln vent hole, a hallmark of antique hollow-cast earthenware construction. A wonderful, authentic character piece for a collector of British art pottery or classic Victorian decor. I love the facial expression and the pretty green and pink pillow. See less

Notable structural hairline fractures are present on the underside of … moreThis antique piece shows characteristic signs of age and wear. Notable structural hairline fractures are present on the underside of the base rim. There is light flaking and glaze loss on the upper pink cushion edge exposing the underlying white ceramic body, as well as minor chipping on the bottom unglazed footing. The entire figurine displays a fine, beautiful natural "crazing" or craquelure texture throughout the white glaze. Firing anomalies/kiln spots on the bottom are consistent with age and production methods of the period. less
