The chestnut wood has developed a beautiful warm patina from generations of use.
Noticeable gouges, in particular where old knots/gnarls separated, along with nicks, scratches, scuffs, stains, and other surface wear throughout. While difficult to see in the photos, there are a few small holes (which do not impact use) and what appears as holes but are simply where old nail heads are visible. These imperfections contribute to its authentic aged character and timeworn French country appeal.
Restored, stable, and ready to use.
