Signed … Read more Elegant vintage Japanese 4-panel folding painted Byobu (screen) depicts a graceful landscape with mountains, trees, river, houses and bridge. Signed by artist. Watercolor and ink on gold paper. Silk border. Lacquered black wood frame with engraved copper corners, plaques and medallions, showing some age patina. Paper on back. Two metal hangers and screws are included. Japan, Shōwa Era, circa 1960s. Very Good condition - minor age wear overall, minimal staining, not noticeable very small replacement of missing 1 inch of the silk liner at the upper silk border of the 3rd panel, very clean silk border with one touch-up on a small stain, couple dents on back, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
