Simple and endearing, this small ceramic totem from the 1950s has a truly charming quality: a rounded, anthropomorphic silhouette and a flared base give it a beautiful, almost theatrical presence. Its two rounded handles lightly evoke arms resting on the waist. The body, covered in a matte white glaze, is enlivened by hand-painted decorations in black and burgundy: a play of lively zigzags at mid-body gives the whole a decidedly modern look, in the spirit of 1950s design. This figurine is a charming decorative object, a unique addition to any collection of vintage ceramics or folk art.
