each chair features a high-relief carved back adorned with scrolls, acanthus leaves, an openwork oval cartouche, and an ornate cornice. The two backs are slightly different in their decoration, following the tradition of alsatian "couple's chairs." the triangular seat rests on three spiral-shaped "barley twist" legs, characteristic of 18th-century alsatian and germanic regional production. The wood has a patina of age. The two chairs differ in seat height (48 and 46 cm) and overall height (89 and 85 cm), in accordance with the use of the pair. The pair has been fully restored by a specialist workshop. Overall condition: restored. Dimensions: h. 89/85 cm – seat 48/46 cm – w. 39 cm – d. 36 cm – weight: 12 kg. See less
