The compact circular top is set above a deep rounded apron, while the slender black columns are accented with classical bronze-tone collars. The warm figured maple against the ebonized supports creates a particularly handsome contrast and gives this small table considerably more decorative character than its scale might suggest. Circa 1950s–1970s. At just 14 inches in diameter, it works beautifully as a drink or martini table beside a chair or sofa where a conventional side table would take up too much room.

JUNE'S THOUGHTS
This is exactly the sort of little table I love for a room where space is at a premium—it gives you a useful place for a drink without taking up the footprint of a conventional side table. It is easy to move and can tuck beside almost any chair while still bringing something decorative and interesting to the room.
