A refined example of early 20th-century silver craftsmanship, this large sterling silver picture frame beautifully combines classic design with timeless elegance. Dating to around 1915, the frame features a finely detailed engine-turned stripe pattern across its surface, adding a subtle texture that catches the light. At the top, a graceful monogram “MAM” lends a personal touch, hinting at its storied past. The frame stands securely on two substantial ball feet, while the back retains its original deep purple velvet easel support, offering both function and period charm. Particularly rare is the presence of domed glass front, adding soft dimension and a sophisticated finish to the presentation.
Measuring 8.5 inches high, 6 inches wide and 4 inches deep, with a photo opening of 6.75 inches high by 4.75 inches wide, this frame is perfect for showcasing a cherished photograph, portrait, or keepsake image. For display, we’ve included a modern print of a period gentleman to complement its vintage character — easily replaceable with your own photo if desired. Marked sterling. Good antique condition with age-related wear/handling, the easel ribbon has been taped for enforcement. Please review photos for further condition assessment.
A beautifully preserved heirloom piece — ideal for collectors of antique silver, or as an elegant accent in a study, dressing room, or traditional home interior. Its combination of fine craftsmanship, rare domed glass, and untouched period details make it a standout addition to any collection.
