This vintage Italian box was hand carved from genuine Volterra alabaster, featuring a clever swivel-top design and wonderful natural coloration in soft blush pink, peach, cream and light gray tones.
The square form is carved from alabaster with a recessed circular interior compartment and a fitted lid that pivots smoothly to reveal the contents. (Jewelry is not included) Particularly lovely is the natural veining and variation throughout the stone, giving the box a softly luminous appearance.
The underside retains its original foil label reading “Genuine Volterra Alabaster – Hand Carved – Made in Italy – Patented Model – Swivel Top.”
A chic little Italian decorative object for a vanity, dressing table, bedside table or coffee-table collection. Perfect for jewelry, rings or other small treasures, and equally attractive simply displayed as a sculptural alabaster accessory.
