Made in the Staffordshire area of England, circa 1830s. Maker unknown, likely Jackson or Clews.

A desirable example of 19th-century Historical Staffordshire transferware, printed with an American view — "Picturesque Views, Baker's Falls, Hudson River." Brown is an unusual and sought-after color for this series, most commonly seen in blue or black. Elaborate scrolling floral border with a scalloped, molded rim.
