Image Dimensions : 47 x 37.5 cm Roberto Sebastián Antonio Matta Echaurren (1911) is a popular architect and artist from Chile. After the transfer to Paris, Matta joined the Surrealist artists and then moved to Tarquinia (Italy) that became his city until the death (2002). The artwork has been realized by the artist during his stay in Italy that became his last residence; it's a charming example of a Surrealist landscape; in the space, there are some mysterious figures (maybe some female figures according to the title of the work) scattered on the surface of the artwork. The lower side of the etching is characterized by a desolated volcanic landscape with some craters on the surface from which some figures emerge. See less
