Signed and dated on plate on the lower right corner: 1889 Filippo Palizzi. Good conditions. Excellent graphic work on paper depicting a milking girl in the nature. The work has been realized by Filippo Palizzi (Vasto, June 16, 1818 - Naples, September 11, 1899). He was an Italian painter. In 1836 Filippo was able to join his brother Giuseppe in Naples and the following year he was admitted to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. In the early 1950s Filippo earned a silver medal, ex aequo with Achille Vertunni, from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and a salary that allowed the two painters to study in Rome. In 1855 he went to his brother Giuseppe in Paris, in view of the Universal Exhibition. Here Philip met French artists, including landscape painters from the Barbizon school. On his return from France Palizzi in Florence met Giovanni Fattori and other painters who would give life to the Macchiaioli movement, to whom he showed the barbizonniers studies he had brought from his recent trip to Paris. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
