Chiton is an original etching realized by Francisco Goya and published for the first time in 1799. Etching on paper. The plate belongs the Third Edition of ''Los Caprichos'' that has been published in 1868 by the Calcografia Nacional for the Real Academia. The full edition includes 80 works. Plate number 28. Titled on the lower margin ''Chiton'' (Silence). Excellent conditions. The old woman, always shrinking and praying with the rosary is listening to the unspeakable loves of a lady of good position: in stealth (''Chiton'') she will find her rewards. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
