The unusually tall, narrow form is topped by an elegant two-tier gallery with dramatically shaped sides and a scalloped crest. Warm French walnut gives the piece considerable character, including particularly attractive figuring across the upper shelf. Measuring just 17 inches wide and 13 inches deep, it offers useful bedside or occasional-table function without requiring much floor space. The drawer retains a French antiques dealer label marked Desbordes, Paris, and ‘Made in France.’

JUNE'S THOUGHTS
I was immediately attracted to this table for its elegant, clean lines and wonderfully slender proportions. At only 17 inches wide, it has the grace of a much larger French piece while fitting into spaces where most antique bedside tables simply cannot.

The walnut was another deciding factor for me. It has a warm, beautifully aged surface, and the upper shelf in particular has some especially pretty walnut figuring—a small detail that gives this restrained little table considerably more character.
