Etching on paper. The etching is part of the Third Edition of ''Los Caprichos'' published in 1868 by the Calcografia Nacional for the Real Academia of Madrid. The Edition includes 80 original plates. Plate N. 18. Numbered on the upper right corner. Titled on the lower central margin ''Y se le quema la casa'' (And he burns his house). Mint conditions. The expression of the lazy, disheveled and incapable person, perhaps drunk, shows his absence of the true life and an unconsciousness that does not notice the most serious dangers. The plate indeed represents a man and a chair in flames on the right side. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
