A striking signed Owens Pottery basket from North Carolina, dated 1998. This hand-thrown pottery basket features a rich red glaze, gracefully flared body, undulating rim, and an especially sculptural twisted handle rising above the center.
The expressive form and variations in the glaze give the piece the individual character associated with handmade studio pottery. Beautiful from every angle, the basket works equally well as a collectible example of North Carolina pottery or as a decorative accent displayed on a console, sideboard, bookshelf, or tabletop.
