Likely Late 19th C. - with Scottish pedigree and potential connection to a British titled owner.

The details on this case are exceptional - brass reinforced corners, two bridle leather and brass straps, heavy brass closures, a fully fabric lined interior, and timber framed base.

37" wide by 21" deep by 12" tall.

And note the monogram and attached metal crest on the top - M.I. C-R. (a hyphenated last name) and a highly detailed Scottish seal, showing the Order of the Thistle and the motto "NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT."

Clean inside, entirely original, and the leather and wood how patina but are still very bright, rich in tones and perfectly patinated.

In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...

Leather cases and luggage are always cool, but this one - WOW. The best we've ever seen.

Incredible quality, incredible detailing (brass corners? Timber framing? A Royal Scot seal?), and an incredible look - rich patina with the perfect amount of use and honest aging.

And the condition is fabulous.

The pair of bridle leather straps alone would make world class belts - unbelievable.

This would be an amazing coffee table base or end-of bed platform.

And, imagine where this has been, and how it travelled?!

Orient Express? Early Pan Am Clippers? The Cunard Queens...Green Rolls Royces at the Peninsula in Hong Kong?
