The is an antique decorative hardcover edition of The Poetical Works of Jean Ingelow, featuring a distinctive dark blue cloth cover with striking gilt sunburst and lettered banner designs. It has beautiful gilt detail on the cover and spine, embossed black detail, gilt to all page edges, illustrated frontispiece with tissue guard, and illustrated within.
The book is in Very Good preloved condition with binding tight and most clean pages. There is a pencil signature of a previous owner on the first blank page of the book. On Pages 190 & 191 there is a discoloration stain from a piece of paper that was kept in the book for an entry period of time.
