Exceptional early 19th-century English Regency mahogany bow-front chest-on-chest, circa 1810–1820, featuring richly figured mahogany, ebony line inlay, an arched pediment with three removable urn finials, and brass lion-head ring pulls.
The tall two-part case is fitted with nine drawers—two short over seven long—with cockbeaded edges and a continuous bow front carried through both the upper and lower cases. The shaped pediment is particularly distinctive, ornamented with restrained geometric ebony inlay that beautifully complements the warm mahogany. The lower case terminates in a shaped apron and elegant splayed feet. The combination of generous storage, relatively narrow 44-inch width and strong vertical proportions makes this an especially useful period case piece for a bedroom, dressing room, library or large entry.
The chest separates into three principal components—the lower chest, upper chest and pediment—for easier transport. The three urn finials are also removable.

The mahogany retains a rich, warm patina with scattered minor scratches, small marks and surface wear. One drawer bottom has an age-related crack, as shown. The case is sturdy, drawers operate properly, and the ebony inlay and decorative elements present well. Brass lion-head ring pulls show appropriate age and patina. The chest separates into upper and lower cases with a removable pediment; the three urn finials are also removable. Overall, a well-preserved English period chest with attractive age and character. less
