Offered for sale is a stunning, heirloom-quality Queen size headboard from Century Furniture's highly coveted "Claridge" Collection (circa late 1970s). Designed by the legendary Raymond K. Sobota, this exquisite piece beautifully merges traditional Georgian silhouettes with refined French Provincial detailing.
The French Provincial headboard features three beautifully integrated panels of tightly woven natural cane, framed by premium solid wood with rich, warm fruitwood tones. The elegant, stepped-arch top rail is accented by a prominent hand-carved shell motif at its crest, while the outer posts are capped with classic turned urn finials.
This piece is in exceptional vintage condition. The natural caning is entirely intact, tight, and free of any breaks, holes, or fraying. The wood frame exhibits beautiful original patina.
Woven cane inserts are completely intact with no holes, sagging, or broken fibers.
Minor cosmetic surface scuffs to the wood framing consistent with age and light residential use.
