The flattened baluster-form porcelain body centers Guanyin seated upon a lotus and flanked by two child attendants, framed within an unusual turquoise pomegranate-form reserve—an auspicious symbol of fertility and abundant descendants in Chinese decorative art. Above is a molded Shou longevity medallion, while sculptural dragon-form handles and additional auspicious motifs embellish the body.

The porcelain is mounted with finely pierced and patterned gilt-metal fittings at the neck and base, giving the lamp a particularly decorative Chinoiserie presence. The combination of famille jaune color, Buddhist imagery and elaborate metalwork makes this an unusual example of early 20th-century Chinese export porcelain adapted for the Western decorative market. The porcelain vase dates late Qing, circa 1900, and was mounted as a table lamp circa 1940s–1950s.
