Vintage McGuire San Francisco Twisted Rattan Armchair in Emerald Green
A sculptural vintage McGuire of San Francisco twisted rattan armchair, circa late 1980s–1990s, featuring the distinctive craftsmanship and natural materials for which the iconic California furniture house is known.
The chair’s standout feature is its beautifully constructed rattan frame, with multiple poles twisted together to create the rope-like arms and back surround. The joints are finished with McGuire’s signature rawhide lashing, giving the chair both architectural structure and an organic, handcrafted quality.
An oval upholstered back and generous seat cushion in a rich emerald green give the piece a fresh, contemporary presence while complementing the warmth and natural variation of the rattan. The combination feels quintessentially California—relaxed and organic, but polished enough for a thoughtfully designed interior.
The chair retains its original brass McGuire San Francisco manufacturer’s plaque, including U.S. Patent 3,297,063, providing clear maker attribution.
