Early 20th-century American pine sawbuck dining table featuring a broad plank top, rounded corners and substantial X-form trestle base with traditional keyed construction. Dating to approximately 1920–1940, the table is built for strength with a long central stretcher secured through the trestles and additional underside bracing.
The warm pine surface retains knots, grain variation and marks acquired through decades of use, giving the table the relaxed character particularly desirable in American country furniture. At 78 inches long with generous 26.5-inch knee clearance, it comfortably functions as a six-person dining table.
JUNE'S THOUGHTS
What appeals to me about this table is its rounded corners that soften what could otherwise be a very rustic piece. Its long, relatively clean silhouette keeps it from feeling heavy and I could see it equally well with painted ladder-back chairs in a country room or juxtaposed with more refined upholstered or modern dining chairs.

The pine top retains scratches, marks, small stains, knots, surface variations and separations between some boards associated with age and decades of use. Expected wear and discoloration are present to the base and feet. Evidence of old and later screws/fasteners and past tightening or minor repairs is visible on the underside. Structurally strong, sturdy and ready for use. The aged surface and signs of use have been intentionally retained rather than refinished. less
